Dani Joss’ “Shaper of Form” Awarded as the Best Experimental Album of 2006 by Qwartz

“Shaper of Form” has received the experimental record award at the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards which took place in Paris at the 23 of March. Many thanks to all of you for your support and vote.
Qwartz is being organized for the third subsequent year in France. Qwartz constitution has been established in the mind of the European audience as the most important constitution of the kind. Other awards included the Qwartz D'Honneur for Björk, the Qwartz Pierre Schaeffer for Henri Pousseur and Otavio Soares Brandao, the Qwartz Max Mathews for the FM3 Buddha Machine, the Qwartz Compilation for "Bip_Hop Generation Vol. 8" and the Qwartz Album and Artist for Coloma.

“Shaper of Form” is as much about language, concept and storytelling as it is about form, music and image evocation. It exposes the intricate balance between the descriptive and the narrative, still and moving, unit and whole while embracing the notions of gesture, mimesis, space and observation. Joss has created a jigsaw with no singular solution, comprised of contradictions and juxtaposed sonorities that effectively abstract the notion of the form. Essentially computer music, “Shaper of Form” retains the lyricism of its conception while referring to ambient and traditional electroacoustic practices.
